Her "Bad" Tastes
According to Monsieur Lantin, his wife had bad taste in two things. 1. What were they? 2. Why did he not like them? 3. What might Madame Lantin's love of both of them reveal about her character? (Student ID)
Monsieur Lantin didn't like her taste for theater and her passion for "imitation jewelry".Monsieur Lantin didn't like to go to the theater because he was very tired after working the whole day in his office .she loved the fact that she could go to the theater by herself and spend time with other men who would help her economically,and make her dreams come true .she also enjoyed that her husband was totally fooled thinking that the jewelry was fake, and she probably laughed whenever he would remind her that they were not real but in her insides she knew they were authentic diamonds .987601
Lantin didnt like her passin for the theater and also fir the gem. Lantin as you know he was a hard worker. He worked from sunrise to sunset. he didnt want to show that he was poor but madame knew that the gems were real. he was kind of ignorant at that point. 965443
The two bad tastes were, the fact that she liked to go to the theater and her love for her "imitation jewelry". He didn't like going to the theater because he was always too tired after a whole days work. He didn't like her jewelry because he believed that a woman who couldn't afford real jewels should relay on her natural beauty. Her love for these things reveals her true character. When she claims to be going to the theater, she was with other men and they happened to be the ones who bought her the jewels, which happen to be real. 964951
