  1. In the beginning of the story, M. Lantin's wife to be was described as seeming like a pure and graceful young woman. Later on in the story, it is revealed that she was in fact having an affair with at least one other man. Another irony is the fact that they lived in luxury and were able to afford expensive wines when they were just a middle income couple. Later on in the story, we learn that his wife was getting money from other men on the side. The jewelry she owned was in fact real and she lived her life pretending that it wasn't, at least around her husband. He even criticized her and called it junk. In the end, he found out it was all real. 964951

  2. I think that is full of irony because the writer fooled us almost all the story by telling us such nice things about her .we thought that she was very good managing the money but reality was that she was getting extra money from other man or men .the writer made us think that the jewelry was fake ,but in the end we found out that the jewelry was real, and that they have been presents from other man .she also dragged his husband to the theater against his will after his long hours of work in the office ,just to get him bored ,she knew that one day he would let her go out alone to the (theater) ,so ,she can go out with other man .987601
